**WARNING - SPOILER ALERT***
Ok, so I finished Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows a few days ago. It was, for those who don't know, the 7th, and final book in the Harry Potter series. As I had mentioned in my previous post, Snape was not evil. He did kill Dumbledore, but it was at Dumbledore's request. So, that turned out good. Right off the bat, Hedwig (Harry's owl) dies. That was sad. After the Order of the Phoenix moves Harry from Privet Dr, and Bill & Fleur's wedding is done, the book gets a little slow. There's a lot of "they camped here...then they camped there..." with little bursts of excitment here and there. The last 3rd of the book did not disappoint however. I was surprised about who dies - Fred, Lupin, Tonks, etc. The end was very climactic, and just super. I didn't really see the need to put the "19 years later" part in there, but I suppose some people just need the "happily ever after" confirmation.
As much as I love the Harry Potter series, I am not among the fans who are signing petitions to make JK Rowling write more Harry Potter books. It makes me think of Stephen King's Misery. Ok, the story is over. Let it go. It would be stupid to write another HP book. What would it say? She finished the saga well.
This is now my favorite of the 7 Harry Potter books. And, if they do it right, it is going to be the best movie. I can't wait!
